Using the book to influence change

We want this to be more than a book, we want it to be an entry point to bring in more people across Scotland into feminist campaigning and for individuals and groups to use the chapters to influence those in power to deliver our suggested solutions.

If the solutions in the chapters speak to you, then why not email your Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) about the book and what you think they should do to advance women's social, political, and economic justice across the of poly-crises we discuss.

Your MSP can:

  • Submit a motion of support for the book, a particular chapter, or cause
  • Submit a question for one of the two sessions of First Minister's Questions demanding answers on the advancement of women's equality on the issues we raise.
  • Hold a parliamentary debate to discuss and scrutinise the issues from the book you want to raise
  • If they are on a relevant committee that is taking forward an inquiry into the issues raised in a chapter, they can engage in the points in the book for their scrutiny of a particular bill or audit.
  • Meet with you to discuss your campaign or asks related to the issues in raised in the book.
  • Be challenged to take on the issue you feel is most important to you as a campaign and pursue relevant process or legislative change.

Use the tool below to find your MSP and email them. You can use the template email below and add in your own views or the solutions from a specific chapter that you feel are most important.
